The Low Pay Commission has opened a consultation to help them make recommendations to government on National Minimum Wage rates from April 2026.

As is stands, a rate within the range of £12.50 and £12.80 (with a central estimate of £12.65) would be needed to ensure the National Living Wage is two-thirds of median earnings. However, these figures will likely rise, as wage growth thus far this year has been better than expected.

The Commission are also interested in opinions on how to approach extending the National Living Wage to everyone aged 18 and above.

The Homecare Association will be responding to this consultation. If there is anything that you think we should include in our response, please email [email protected].

The consultation is available online and will close on 30 June 2025 at 11:59pm:
