Supporting Community Befriending in Durrington
Kingsway CareGivers Amy, Brendon and Nayana, enjoyed their time at February's Time To Talk Befriending coffee afternoon in Durrington.
Around 40 guests attended, enjoying tea, coffee, sandwiches and cake, thanks to the brilliant TTTB volunteer team. Amy, Brendon and Nayana were on hand to support guests with mobility needs, helping people safely on and off the minibus and making sure everyone felt welcome and included.
Supporting independence, connection and confidence is at the heart of what we do, so we were delighted when TTTB asked if we could provide professional caregivers for these events.
Kingsway Care proudly supports Time to Talk Befriending monthly group events at welcoming venues across Brighton, Hove and Worthing. These events bring together older people, many of whom are living with multiple long-term health conditions, for a chance to socialise, laugh, and feel included.
To make sure these events are safe and accessible for everyone, Kingsway CareGivers are on hand to offer professional support with:
- Getting members safely to and from venues
- Manual handling and wheelchair assistance
- On-call personal care, should anyone need extra support during the event
- And most importantly companionship throughout the sessions
This extra layer of care allows Time to Talk Befriending incredible team of 350 volunteers to focus on what they do best: creating joyful moments and meaningful friendships.
