Your Memories Matter, created by community station INTune Radio, will launch on Sunday 6 September at 10am. The programme will use music, memories, nostalgia and local stories to encourage connection and provide a welcoming listening experience for people living with memory loss or dementia, as well as their families and loved ones.

The programme is believed to be the first dedicated radio show of its kind in Shropshire, and forms part of a year-long partnership between INTune Radio and Radfield Home Care.

As part of the partnership, Radfield Home Care is providing sponsorship funding to support the programme and help INTune Radio expand its reach across Shropshire and beyond. Radfield is also working closely with the programme's host to bring care expertise, community connections and opportunities for local people to get involved.

Unlike traditional radio broadcasting, Your Memories Matter has been carefully designed to provide a gentle and uninterrupted listening environment. The programme features no loud station idents or advertising breaks, allowing listeners to focus on carefully selected music and content intended to encourage positive memories, conversation and nostalgia.

The programme will also give local people the opportunity to contribute their own memories and stories. Shropshire residents and Radfield Home Care clients are being invited to share stories from their past, contribute memories and help shape future programmes.

Listeners will also have the opportunity to visit INTune Radio's studio in Shrewsbury's Darwin Centre, see the programme being recorded and, where appropriate, take part themselves.

"At Radfield Home Care, we are always looking for pioneering ways to enrich the lives of those living with memory loss and dementia. When we saw the care INTune Radio put into creating 'Your Memories Matter', we knew we had to step up as a sponsor. It is a real privilege to help create Shropshire's first dedicated nostalgia show, which will create a comforting audio sanctuary and a platform for people to share their invaluable life stories." said Karen Corcoran, Radfield Home Care's Regional Development Director.

As well as providing a listening experience centred on memories and nostalgia, Your Memories Matter will help connect listeners and their families with local sources of support.

Local charities, community groups and care organisations are being invited to share information about their services through the Your Memories Matter website and within the programme, helping people find relevant support and community connections across the region.

"This show is entirely powered by community connection, and we want it to belong to the people of Shropshire. Through this great collaboration with Radfield Home Care, we are creating an open door. We want to invite listeners, people with memory loss or dementia, and their loved ones to get involved, share their rich histories, and join us to make a profound, lasting impact together." said Wayne Flynn from INTune Radio.

As the programme's exclusive Home Care sponsor, Radfield Home Care will remain closely involved throughout the year, bringing its team, clients and community care initiatives into the programme's wider activity, including trailers, graphics and social media content.
