Connecting with the Community and Inspiring Future Care Careers

The month began with the team attending the Kendal College Careers Fair, where they met students and jobseekers keen to learn more about the many opportunities available within the homecare sector. Visitors to the stand were able to chat with the team about the benefits of working in care, the outstanding training provided, and how a career in homecare can make a difference to people’s lives!

Westmorland Homecare South Lakes also hosted its popular monthly community coffee morning which, despite the chilly weather, was well attended and brought together a wonderful group of clients and locals from the local area. Guests are welcomed by a warm drinks, delicious cakes, and friendly conversation in a relaxed and welcoming setting. Westmorland Homecare organise and provide these coffee mornings as a chance for members of the community to connect, share stories and learn more about the support available locally.

Events like these reflect the strong commitment at Westmorland Homecare to the local community. By bringing people together and raising awareness about careers in care, we continue to strengthen relationships while inspiring others to consider joining this vital and rewarding profession.

With such a positive start to the year, the team looks forward to many more opportunities to connect with the community. As well as our monthly coffee morning we also have the exciting colour dash in April where we sponsor a fantastic charity and get to throw paint in our famous shade of green at people partaking in the event.
