Community Spirit Makes a Splash at Chester Duck Race
Radfield Home Care Chester was delighted to support this year’s Chester Duck Race; a popular community event organised by The Countess Charity in aid of the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
The annual event, held along the River Dee, brought together families, local businesses and charities for a fun-filled day of fundraising and community spirit. This year’s event raised more than £25,000 for the hospital’s Extra Mile Appeal, helping fund an additional ultrasound scanner for local patients.
As part of the celebrations, Radfield Home Care entered its very own duck, affectionately named “Radfield Racer” following a special competition involving both clients and Care Professionals. The winning name was chosen by Care Professional Angela.
Ahead of the race, Radfield Racer became a familiar face at Radfield’s day centre, bringing smiles, laughter and conversation among clients and team members alike.
Although Radfield Racer did not secure first place on race day, the team thoroughly enjoyed supporting such an important local event.
Helen Walsh from Radfield Home Care Chester said:
“Events like the Chester Duck Race are such a wonderful way of bringing the community together while supporting an incredibly worthwhile cause. We were proud to be involved and loved seeing the excitement it created among our clients, Care Professionals and the wider community.”
At Radfield Home Care, supporting local charities and community initiatives is an important part of helping people stay connected to the people, places and experiences that matter most to them.
