Celebratory Tea Party Recognises the Work of Long-Serving Care Staff
Hosted at Farnham Royal Village Hall in Slough, the gathering honoured the long-standing dedication of Oxford House’s care staff.
As part of the celebration, Registered Manager Donna Doyle presented certificates to carers who have been with Oxford House for more than five years, recognising their loyalty and contribution to the organisation. This remarkable dedication reflects the strong continuity of care at the heart of Community Care. Among those honoured were Denise Neighbour, celebrating 27 years of service, and Sheraz Rehman, with 25 years. Members of the office team were also recognised, including Claire Barry (12 years), and Monika Jalota and Samina Malik, both marking 11 years.
The tea party featured finger food including cakes, sandwiches, and samosas, along with a selection of drinks and music to suit all tastes. While the entire office team contributed to the celebration, a special thanks goes to Vanilla Cakes, a handcrafted cake business based in Maidenhead, for generously providing a cake tray; to Party Shop Direct, a decoration and supplies store in Slough, for assisting with the event décor; and to Lavender Green Flowers, a florist based in London and Windsor, for their floral arrangements that added an elegant touch to the setting.
The afternoon offered more than just recognition—it fostered a genuine sense of connection. Clients and carers spent time chatting, laughing, and sharing stories. Paul, a long-standing client, expressed his appreciation: “It made such a nice change for those of us who spend most of our time at home to get out and about, chat with our own and other carers on level terms, and even connect with other clients and hear their stories too.”
Held during Good Care Month, the event served as a heartfelt thank you to the team members who have devoted themselves to supporting the elderly and vulnerable, many of whom have spent years delivering live-in and community-based care across the region.
