Celebrating our High Achieving Members
Celebrating Success at the Radfield Annual Conference
Earlier this month, our team at Radfield Home Care Chester & Ellesmere Port attended the annual Radfield Conference. This special event brings together teams from across the network to celebrate excellence in care and to recognise the people who make a meaningful difference every day.
This year was particularly memorable for our team. We were honoured to receive several awards that reflect the compassion, dedication and professionalism of our Care Professionals and leadership team. Julie Scott was named National Franchise Partner of the Year, Clare Harding was awarded Manager of the Year alongside a Highly Commended recognition, and we were incredibly proud to receive the Be There Award.
Meaningful Moments That Define Our Care
What makes these achievements so meaningful is that they are rooted in real, personal moments with the people we support.
The Be There Award celebrates those moments that go beyond delivering care and truly enrich lives. Moments like supporting a client who had previously been a scout leader to reconnect with an important part of her life, attending a local scout meeting alongside one of our Care Professionals. Or arranging for a Care Professional to bring their horse to visit a client who had a lifelong passion for horses, creating a moment of genuine joy and connection.
These are the moments that define our approach to care.
Leadership That Inspires Outstanding Care
Julie’s recognition as National Franchise Partner of the Year reflects the culture she has built within the business. Over the past four and a half years, she has led the Chester and Ellesmere Port team with a clear focus on delivering care that is personal, respectful and centred around each individual.
At Radfield Home Care, we believe care is about people, their stories, their families and the trust they place in us. This belief shapes everything we do and ensures that every individual we support remains connected to the things that matter most to them.
This passion for outstanding care is reflected in the many five star reviews the business receives. Clients and their families regularly share feedback that speaks to the compassion and commitment of our Care Professionals.
“Excellent friendly service. All the ladies that visit my mum are kind and caring and treat mum with the greatest respect. We have been using Radfield for over a year and can highly recommend them.”
“We find all the staff very caring, supportive and talk to my mum. Nothing seems too much trouble. They respect my mother and her wishes. If they have time on the call they will do things round the home which is so helpful. This is the first time our mother has accepted any care, which says a great deal about them.”
Recognising Excellence Across Our Team
Clare’s achievement as Manager of the Year highlights the strength of leadership within our service. Her supportive approach, dedication to quality and commitment to both clients and Care Professionals plays a vital role in maintaining the high standards we are proud to deliver.
For over 40 years, Radfield Home Care has been a champion for the kind of care that people want as well as need. Our mission is to help our nation age well, supporting people to remain independent while staying connected to their communities, their memories and the people they love.
These awards are not just a celebration of success. They are a reflection of the relationships we build, the trust we earn and the difference we make every day.
Radfield Home Care Wakefield & Huddersfield Receives Gold at National Home Care Awards
Radfield Home Care Wakefield & Huddersfield is pleased to share that the team has been recognised with a Gold Award at the Home Care Awards, celebrating excellence in home care delivery.
The award was presented by Jane Townson, Chief Executive of the Home Care Association, at Radfield Home Care’s National Conference, following the team being unable to attend the awards ceremony in person.
The recognition reflects the team’s continued focus on delivering high-quality, person-centred care that enables individuals to remain safely and independently in their own homes.
Central to this approach is a commitment to consistency and continuity, with familiar Care Professionals, reliable visit times and strong oversight from an experienced local management team.
This model supports not only safe care delivery, but also helps ensure care remains practical, responsive and reassuring for both clients and their families as needs change.
The award is a testament to the professionalism, compassion and dedication of the entire team.
TLC Support Services proudly achieve a CQC ‘Outstanding’ rating
TLC Support Services’ story
Husband and wife team, Tristan and Mel Holland, established TLC Support Services Limited in 2015 and registered with the Care Quality Commission to provide personal care to people living in their own homes. The service is based in Wotton-under-Edge, Gloucestershire, and covers the Stroud region.
Mel trained as an RGN at the Avon & Gloucestershire College of Health and Tristan was awarded his DipHE in Health & Social care from the University of the West of England. Mel and Tristan met whilst working in a care home for older people and they have always been committed to providing a high-quality service that people can rely on. Since marrying almost 30 years ago and working together full time for the past 11 years, they are still going strong - personally and professionally!
After managing care services across Gloucestershire, Mel and Tristan set up their own domiciliary care service as a direct result of witnessing the poor provision that their own family members received; drawing on their experiences in caring for older people, managing teams, and fostering relationships with health & social care professionals.
TLC Support Services are current members of the Homecare Association and rely on the information and materials they access for sustainable pricing, Terms & Conditions, training opportunities, and connections with 3rd parties relevant and experienced in the sector. Mel and Tristan regard their membership as an invaluable resource in supporting them to ensure their service provision meets market needs and demands.
Achieving CQC ‘Outstanding’
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has upgraded the rating for TLC Support Services Limited, from good to outstanding, following an inspection carried out in March.
CQC has upgraded the rating for caring and well-led from good to outstanding. Safe, effective and responsive have been re-rated as good.
Stefan Kallee, CQC’s deputy director of adult social care for the South West, said:
“When we inspected TLC Support Services Limited, we found an exceptionally well-led service, where leaders had created a warm, values-led culture where high standards were the norm.
“One of the things which was immediately obvious to us was how well staff knew the people they cared for. This wasn’t just about meeting practical needs. Staff noticed the small things, how someone liked their drinks, what helped them feel comfortable and used that knowledge to make a real difference to people’s daily lives.
“We also saw interesting innovation. The service introduced a dedicated wellbeing coordinator and new approaches to support people’s nutrition and hydration, which had a measurable impact on people’s health. In one case, tailored changes to someone’s diet and fluids meant they no longer needed medication for a medical condition.
“Overall, we saw a picture of a service that went above and beyond for the people it supports. Everyone at TLC Support Services Limited should be proud of the service they’re providing.”
