The event, held in Highgate Newtown Community Centre brought together a wide range of care providers and support organisations, all keen to meet potential candidates and showcase the breadth of roles available within care. Attendees included people at different stages of their working lives - from those considering a career change, to individuals returning to work, as well as younger people exploring their first steps into employment.

Providers in attendance included:

ARU London (Anglia Ruskin University)
Camden Carers
GLA's Social Care Sector Talent Board & Pan-London Sector Hub
Good Work Camden
Haringey Works
Lifted Talent
ME Passport
NCL Health & Social Care Academy
Nissi Home Care
Radfield Home Care
Sama Care
Skills for Care
Visiting Angels
Walfinch
WM College

There was a real buzz throughout the day, with providers having plenty of positive conversations and seeing strong interest from attendees. Many job seekers spoke directly with employers, helping them build a clearer picture of the sector and explore current roles and potential career paths.

The event forms part of ongoing work to support recruitment into adult social care and to create accessible, local opportunities for residents. By bringing employers and jobseekers together in person, the aim is to break down barriers to employment and highlight the wide range of rewarding roles available within the sector.

Glyn Clark - Organiser of the event & Director, Radfield Home Care, said:
“We wanted to create an in-person event that opens up real employment and career opportunities for local people in North London. It’s about making those connections happen - giving people the chance to meet employers directly, ask questions, and see what a career in care could look like for them.”

The event took place at Highgate Newtown Community Centre, which provided a welcoming and accessible space for both providers and attendees.

Further events are already being planned, with the next Careers in Care event scheduled for the autumn.

Organisers are also gathering feedback and outcomes from providers to help shape future events and ensure they continue to meet the needs of both employers and jobseekers.
