The National Minimum Wage Beyond 2024

The Low Pay Commission published their advice to the Government on the implementation of the new National Minimum Wage (£11.44 for those 21 and above), which comes into effect on 1 April 2024.

The Commission expects this to mean that the highest rate of the minimum wage reaches two-thirds of median earnings, achieving a target first set by the Government in 2020.

The report recommendations included reducing the gap between adult and youth rates, which has grown in recent years, and reforming the treatment of apprentices.
