Identifying Victims of Modern Slavery
The UK government seeks evidence and views on improving the identification of modern slavery. This is part of a wider effort to reform the current system, known as the National Referral Mechanism. The committee asks a broad range of organisations and individuals, including those in the care sector, to share their input to help ensure victims gain earlier recognition and receive the right support for recovery from exploitation.
This request for evidence focuses on three significant areas including the definition of victims of modern slavery, the initial identification of victims, and the process for making formal identification decisions.
