From 22 July 2025, employers will no longer be able to recruit careworkers from overseas. However, providers can still employ sponsored careworkers already in the country.
We recommend that providers who are sponsors review the updated sponsorship guidance. In particular: Sponsor a Skilled Worker from SK4.25 onwards covers changes to recruitment of careworkers and SK4.45 gives further information on the evidence needed to support careworker Certificate of Sponsorship applications.
