Spending review to be one year rather than long-term
As expected, the Chancellor has dropped plans for a long-term Comprehensive Spending Review, so the Government can prioritise the response to Covid-19.
Instead there will be a one-year Spending Review later in November to set departmental resource and capital budgets for 2021-22, and Devolved Administration's block grants.
