On 4 July, the House of Commons Adult Social Care Committee took evidence from the Minister for Care and Mental Health, Gillian Keegan and Director General of Adult Social Care, Michelle Dyson.

Issues discussed by MPs included raising the profile of adult social care, making sure more people are able to  receive care at home, and CQC’s new responsibility from April 2023 to monitor local authorities' exercise of powers in respect of adult social care.
