The Homecare Association have responded to the Provisional Local Government Finance Settlement consultation.
We welcome the Government’s decision to move to a multi-year local government finance settlement and to update the distribution of funding using more recent measures of relative need. Councils and providers have called for greater certainty for many years.
However, the proposed approach to distributing the Fair Funding Allocation across the multi-year Settlement period raises serious concerns for homecare providers. As currently designed, the settlement will not deliver sustainable adult social care services.
