Today, the Homecare Association joins the Local Government Association and nearly 100 leaders in Adult Social Care urging the Chancellor to invest in adult social care.
Our Chief Executive, Dr Jane Townson OBE says:
“If the Government is serious about a ‘home first’ agenda, it’s time to prove it. That means backing homecare with real investment in the Spending Review, not just warm words. For too long, those in charge have treated social care as a cost to contain rather than a service that transforms lives, protects families, and keeps the NHS afloat. Providers are handing back care packages, families are breaking under the pressure, and older and disabled people are losing their independence. Talk of long-term reform without immediate action will not fool the public. We challenge the Government to be brave, to do the right thing, and show the country social care matters.”
