The Department of Health and Social Care has launched the Adult Social Care Nurse Prescribing Pilot to support the Government’s health mission and the ambition for adult social care to play a greater role in health treatment.
The pilot distributes funding to up to 7 Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) to fund approximately 20 nurses from each region to undertake an NMC-approved prescribing qualification. This will qualify them to prescribe medicines within their adult social care setting.
The ICB selection process is ongoing. We will inform members when the pilot is open for applications from nurses. Click here to read more information about the pilot.
