We have commented on the Department for Education’s proposed outline content of the new social care T-level that is due to enrol pupils from 2028, asking for it to be updated to reflect contemporary issues in social care and more comprehensively include homecare.
We welcomed the T-level as a route to working in social care and asked for flexibility for employers concerning work placements, as they need to reflect the mobile nature of homecare, and safeguarding rules for young workers and people receiving care.
There is still time to comment, as the consultation closes on 9 August 2026.
