A cash injection of £70 million for social care providers in Northern Ireland has been announced by Health Minister Robin Swann.

The aim is to help organisations in the independent sector, including domiciliary care providers, cope with increasing costs and ensure legal requirements are met.

The Minister also added: “This £70m package includes an increase in the regional funding rate for domiciliary care providers to £20.01 per hour, which I believe can help stabilise the service and support enhanced pay.”
