Shielding guidance issued ahead of national restrictions

The Department of Health and Social Care has published updated guidance on shielding people who are clinically extremely vulnerable, in advance of the national restrictions that apply to everyone in England from 5 November to 2 December 2020.

The guidance is not as strict as previous shielding guidance, as people are allowed out for limited purposes, but it does say people who are clinically extremely vulnerable should not go to work during the period of national restrictions, if they cannot work from home. The guidance outlines the support available to those affected.

Guidance, COVID-19: guidance on shielding and protecting people defined on medical grounds as extremely vulnerable, updated 4 November 2020.
