The Government commits, in the response, to publish updated infection prevention and control guidance for adult social care settings this winter, and confirms that an adult social care pandemic action plan - covering fit testing and discharge planning - will be finalised in 2027. The government also acknowledges that improvements to adult social care data are needed to identify high-risk individuals in future pandemics, and that the social care workforce will require dedicated psychological support.
Detailed social care policy has been reserved for the Inquiry's forthcoming Module 6 report, which is expected to examine the sector specifically.
