Scottish Government tightens restrictions from 16 January
The Scottish Government is to tighten COVID-19 restrictions on takeaways and click and collect services from Saturday, 16 January.
Takeaways will have to operate from a hatch or doorway, rather than allow customers inside, and click and collect will only be allowed from shops selling essential items, and then only outdoors, with staggered appointments so people do not have to queue.
It will also be against the law in all level 4 areas of Scotland to drink alcohol outdoors in public.
Statutory guidance on working from home will make clear that if people were working from home during the first lockdown, they should be working from home now and their employer should be facilitating that.
