Report shows widespread disruption to older people's care in the pandemic
The Institute of Fiscal Studies has published a briefing on COVID-19 and disruptions to the health and social care of older people in England which reports disruptions to hospital care were widespread during the early stages of the pandemic.
A sixth of the over-50 population in England - that is 3.6 million individuals - had hospital treatment or an operation cancelled, with disruption greatest for those in poor health and living in deprived areas.
