Northern Ireland's restrictions to become enforceable in law

Ministers in Northern Ireland are planning to make their 'stay at home' order effective in law. The country is in the second week of a six-week lockdown, which started on 26 December.

The Executive is due to meet today, and an announcement is also expected on a switch to online learning for schools, which will close for most pupils.
