Eligible people across England are being urged to book their COVID-19 spring vaccination as the NHS launches its latest immunisation programme.
Those who qualify include adults aged 75 and over, anyone aged six months or over with a weakened immune system and residents of care homes for older adults. The programme runs until 30 June 2026, with the last day to book being 29 June.
NHS England has warned that COVID-19 continues to pose a serious risk, particularly to older people and those with compromised immune systems. Protection from previous infection or vaccination can diminish over time, and the circulating strain of the virus may change - making it vital that vulnerable individuals keep their immunity topped up.
The NHS will contact those eligible - people do not need to wait for an invitation.
Appointments are available at GP practices, local pharmacies, and walk-in clinics from 13 April and can be booked via the NHS app, by calling 119, or online at www.nhs.uk/covid-vaccine.
Those eligible for both COVID-19 and RSV vaccines may be able to receive them together at certain locations.
