New restrictions to start in Wales from 14 September
Mark Drakeford, First Minister, has announced that facemasks will be obligatory for those over 11 in shops and other indoor public spaces in Wales from 14 September 2020. Health and medical exemptions will apply.
More than six people from an extended household will also be banned from meeting indoors from the same date. This rule will not apply to children aged 11 and under .
Up to 30 people from different homes can still meet outdoors, within the rules.
Stricter rules may apply in areas where there are local restrictions, like Caerphilly.
Meanwhile, businesses in Wales are urged to prepare for the new NHS COVID-app, being launched on 24 September, by displaying a NHS QR code poster on entry, to allow customers with the app to check in. More information:
