New five level plan for COVID-19 restrictions in Scotland
The First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, announced a new five level plan for COVID-19 for Scotland today.
Whilst levels 1, 2 and 3 are broadly similar to those announced for England last week, there is also a level 0 (similar to the lower restriction levels set out in the summer) and a level 4 (which represents a more substantial lockdown closer to what was seen in spring).
Which regions are allocated to which level has yet to be decided and is being discussed with local public health leads. It is anticipated the framework will come into effect on 2 November 2020.
The Strategy also states an intention to publish a Winter Plan for Adult Social Care and an intention to meet additional PPE costs.
