Help older and disabled people displaced in Ukraine - join us in donating to our fundraising appeal

The Homecare Association is delighted to have donated £2,500 from the profits of our Annual Conference last month to the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.  One in four people in Ukraine is older or disabled. The recent conflict in Ukraine has forced millions of people to flee their homes in search of safety. For the older people attempting to escape the conflict or being left behind, the situation is particularly dangerous.

Please join us in supporting Age International to raise funds for the people of Ukraine. Together we can make a difference and provide the much-needed support to those that need our help most.

Donate to our appeal here.

We know that many of our members are working hard to support efforts in Ukraine. We would love to hear about what your organisation is doing.

Homecare Association members Home Instead has launched a Family Dementia Care Guide, which is designed for families who look after a loved one with dementia. As we know it’s a condition that can cause feelings of confusion and anxiety even when in comfortable and familiar surroundings. There will be many Ukrainian refugees living with dementia who have no choice but to uproot from familiar surroundings, change their regular routine and be apart from certain loved ones. Home Instead is providing a translation to provide host families with advice and insight into the complex condition.

Download the guides here and you can find the English infographic attached.
