Government ask Migration Advisory Committee to review salary requirements and the new Temporary Shortage List

The Government has written to the Migration Advisory Committee asking them to review the new Temporary Shortage List and salary thresholds. 

On 1 July, the Government published amendments to the immigration rules that will come into force on 22 July. These restrict the use of visas for careworkers and senior careworkers to in-country recruitment (you can read more about this on our international recruitment page). This means it is unlikely that this MAC review will provide an opportunity to secure ongoing international recruitment for careworkers. However, we will monitor developments so that we can highlight care workforce challenges. We will also seek to understand if this review could have implications for recruitment for other roles, for example, Registered Managers.
