From Wembley to Centre Stage: Care Professional Shines in National Talent Competition

It’s not every day that a local care professional finds themselves on the path to national stardom — but that’s exactly what’s happening for Cherise, a talented Care Professional from Home Instead Wembley, who has reached the final of Homecare’s Got Talent 2025.

Cherise, who brings warmth, compassion and creativity to her work with older adults in the Wembley area, is now preparing to perform in front of a celebrity judging panel at the national finals in Birmingham this August — a remarkable achievement that has the whole community cheering her on.

A Celebration of Talent in the Care Sector

Homecare’s Got Talent is a nationwide competition designed to showcase the hidden talents of people working in homecare — individuals who dedicate their lives to supporting others, but who often keep their creative gifts tucked away. From singing and dancing to juggling, poetry and more, the competition is a joyful celebration of the incredible people behind the profession.

Cherise entered the competition with a song from the heart — and what started as a fun idea quickly became something much bigger. After submitting a video audition, she was invited to perform live at the London regional semi-finals, where her talent shone brightly.

“There was a lot of waiting around, but it was worth it and really fun,” Cherise recalls. “There were a few celebrity judges – I recognised the lady from Bucks Fizz. They were all so lovely and encouraging.”

Although she felt nervous on stage, Cherise gave it her all — and was stunned to hear her name called as one of just five finalists from the entire London region.

“I really didn’t expect to go through — I didn’t feel like it was my best performance and there were so many amazing singers. I was shocked, but so happy!”

More Than Just a Performer

Cherise’s colleagues at Home Instead Wembley are beyond proud — but not at all surprised.

“Cherise brings so much joy to the people she cares for,” says Leena Lakhani, owner of Home Instead Wembley. “Whether she’s helping a client start their morning with a smile or now standing on stage performing in front of judges, her warmth and spirit are undeniable. She’s a star in every sense.”

Outside of her performance, Cherise is a much-loved figure in the local community, known for her patience, positivity, and personal approach to care. For many of her clients, she’s more than a carer — she’s a friend, a companion, and a source of comfort and laughter.

Looking Ahead to the Final

The Homecare’s Got Talent national final will take place in Birmingham on 14th August, where finalists from across the UK will compete for the top prize — including a £1,000 cash reward, a performance spot at a UK music festival, an all-inclusive holiday for two, and the chance to meet more celebrity judges.

Back in Wembley, Cherise is staying grounded, continuing to deliver care with the same heart and dedication that brought her to this moment.

“I’m just grateful to have been chosen,” she says. “Whether I win or not, I’m proud to represent homecare and the people we care for.”

Let’s go Cherise! 🎤🌟
