Expansion of routine testing in Scotland
The Cabinet Secretary for Health and Sport provided an update to the Scottish parliament on the expansion of testing earlier this week.
This will be rolled out to hospital patients and staff in December. There will also be some pilots of testing care home visitors in December with an intention to roll this out more widely in January and February.
Homecare workers are expected to be included in routine asymptomatic testing from mid January.
There will also be mobile testing units supporting using asymptomatic community testing in some areas where the COVID-19 prevalence is high.
