Agincare has launched its national Agincare Heroes Awards 2024 perpetuating its commitment to raising the profile of the many thousands of dedicated care and support workers who carry out this crucial and often unappreciated role in our communities.

Since 2021, The Agincare Heroes Awards have been championing the extraordinary impact that Agincare care workers have on the lives of the people they support and care for.

Agincare team members can be nominated for an Agincare Heroes Award by anyone that wishes to recognise their achievements. This could be someone who draws on Agincare’s services, their family and friends, health and social care professionals, or a work colleague.

To submit a nomination, please go to the dedicated Agincare Heroes Awards 2024 webpage at www.agincare.com/heroes

Founded from a single care home in Weymouth, Dorset, by Derek Luckhurst in 1986, Agincare is a major success story for the health and social care sector and is still growing sustainably almost forty years on.

Agincare remains family-owned and still embodies the same winning values of high-quality affordable care that has seen it become a preferred care provider for many public sector organisations and private clients across the country.

Derek Luckhurst said:

Our care workers are the lifeblood of Agincare. They are hard-working men and women who provide care and support to thousands of people in over 85 Agincare locations nationwide.

“We continue to invest heavily in the training and development of our teams so that they can deliver the high-quality care that has built our excellent reputation over many years. Please tell us about the outstanding stars of Agincare that have made a real difference in your life, that of a loved one, or work colleague.

After the nominations window closes on Friday 15th March, Raina Summerson, Agincare Chief Executive Officer, will lead a panel of expert judges to review nominees and offer recommendations to Derek Luckhurst who will make a final selection of the winners.

Raina Summerson said:

The Agincare Heroes Awards celebrate the achievements of exceptional people from our extraordinary workforce that truly embody the heart and spirit of not only Agincare, but the wider social care sector as a whole.

The incredible work done every day by care workers often goes unsung, so it’s more important than ever to honour those remarkable people that go above and beyond their care duties.

The Agincare Heroes Awards comprise eleven awards that recognise exceptional talent across the company. The awards include Care Worker of the Year, Care Team of the Year, Customer Service of the Year, The Rising Star Award, and many more.

The latter part of the ceremony focuses on two special awards, The Will Mitchell Award for Outstanding Achievement and the Agincare Hero Award. These two awards showcase the selfless feats of Agincare team members in and outside of their roles.

The Will Mitchell Award for Outstanding Achievement is named after a greatly admired member of the Agincare family who passed away at a tragic young age. This award is given to a person who greatly inspires people in their community – embodying Will Mitchell’s endlessly positive and uplifting character.

The Agincare Hero Award is the final decoration of the ceremony and is also the most distinguished, bestowed to a select handful of team members who have all performed incredible acts of care, courage, and commitment.

Winners will be announced at a prestigious ceremony in June that celebrates and champions all Agincare Heroes 2024.
