A team from Radfield Home Care Harrogate & North Yorkshire and Radfield Home Care North Leeds & Ilkley has completed a 45km sponsored walk between its two offices, raising more than £1,300 for two local charities supporting older people across the region.

Fifteen walkers took part in the challenge, which saw the team set off from Radfield's Harrogate office before making their way to their Guiseley office, via the Cow and Calf on Ilkley Moor. The route covered approximately 45 kilometres and took place during one of the hottest days of the year so far, with temperatures reaching around 26°C.

The walk was organised in support of two longstanding community partners, Supporting Older People Harrogate and Guiseley Senior Citizens. Representatives from both organisations, including Candy and Pete from Guiseley Senior Citizens and Kate from Supporting Older People, joined the team for the journey.

The fundraiser has already raised more than £1,300, with donations continuing to come in. All funds raised will be split equally between the two charities to help them continue providing activities, events and support that help older people remain connected to their communities.

Nathan Evans, Business Development Manager at Radfield Home Care, said:

"It was certainly more of a challenge than we expected. Climbing up Ilkley Moor in 26-degree heat is not something I'd recommend in a hurry. However, we're incredibly proud of what the team achieved. More importantly, we've raised a significant amount of money for two charities that make a genuine difference to older people's lives every day. Having spent time with both organisations over the past year, I've seen first-hand the impact they have on reducing loneliness, creating friendships and helping people stay connected to their communities."

The event forms part of Radfield Home Care's ongoing commitment to supporting local organisations and strengthening community connections across Harrogate, North Yorkshire & North Leeds.

Nathan added:

"We'd like to thank everyone who donated, shared the fundraiser, supported us along the route and helped make the day possible. The community support has been fantastic, and every donation will help these charities continue their valuable work."
