Successes achieved for homecare during the COVID-19 pandemic include: 

priority access to the COVID-19 vaccination programme for homecare workers

additional funds for councils from central Government

guidance from ADASS and the LGA for councils to increase providers’ fees

access to Government supplies of PPE for all homecare services (extended to March 2022)

temporary waiver of VAT on PPE

key worker status for homecare workers

the extension of the death in service scheme to social care staff

the extension of the ICF2 and ICF3 to include homecare.
