Head of Policy, Practice and Innovation

Homecare Association

The Homecare Association is the UK's membership body for homecare providers. We provide practical support and representation for over 2,200 homecare providers nationally. Together, we ensure homecare is valued so all of us can live well at home and flourish within our communities.

We are seeking a collaborative leader with a passion for improving homecare to join our team as the Head of Policy, Practice and Innovation.

Location

Homecare Association - Waterloo, SE1 8UL, London (2 days per week in the office, 3 days a week at home, with national travel to meetings and events as required).

Salary

Median salary benchmark for this role is £60K p.a. Offers may be below or above this, depending on the extent of relevant skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, inspire, and manage the Policy, Practice and Innovation Team, developing team members and ensuring high performance against agreed objectives.
  • Ensure the team provides effective practical support for members and represents their interests with central government, local government, NHS, regulators, other sector partners, media and the public.
  • As a member of the Leadership Team, contribute to the development and execution of the business plan across all areas of the business.
  • Ensure delivery of evidence-based responses to external consultations based on our understanding of the sector, effectively representing the views of our members.
  • Analyse market trends and policy changes in social care, both nationally and internationally. Inform and advise the Chief Executive and Leadership Team.
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with the Association's members, colleagues, and key external stakeholders for the benefit of the Association.

Person Specification

  • Evidence of progressively responsible and senior experience in policy or advocacy in the care sector.
  • Strong skills and commitment to collaboration, team-working, leadership and management of others.
  • Track record of developing and maintaining successful relationships internally and with external agencies and stakeholders.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentational skills.
  • Experience of managing a varied workload, planning and organising effectively, and working at pace to tight deadlines.
  • Experience of setting and managing targets and budgets, and of financial management.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, with commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Strong alignment with the Association's principles of Integrity, Intelligence, Inclusiveness, Inspiration and Influence.
  • High level of emotional intelligence, strong management skills, and credible and confident communication abilities.

Marketing Assistant

Reports to: Head of Marketing

Salary: £26,000 pa

Type: Full-Time Hybrid working – 2 days in office, including Tuesdays

Location: Waterloo, London

Join us at the Homecare Association as a Marketing Assistant, a great opportunity for a hard worker who is eager to learn and contribute to all aspects of the marketing mix.

Role purpose

You will provide administrative, analytical and creative support. Your role is important to the smooth and effective running of the Marketing Team.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide support to the marketing team
  • Assist with all marketing campaigns, including online, print and events
  • Market and client research
  • Create reports on campaign performance
  • Maintain schedules for marketing and communications projects
  • Assist with social media and website content
  • Attend trade shows and company events
  • Organize and manage marketing collateral
