Our next Homecare Association All Member Webinar is on Thursday 6 October 2022 at 1000-1130 via Zoom.

The aims are to:

  1. Update you on our work across our five priority areas – workforce, financial sustainability, public awareness, innovation and integration, and regulation.
  2. Discuss what’s happening in the sector at a time of political change and economic uncertainty, and
  3. Engage with you on key issues needing urgent attention.

With a new government forming and numerous opportunities and challenges for the homecare sector, it is important that we share news and views and understand how best to represent and support you.

If there are topics you want us to cover, please let us know by emailing [email protected].

In addition, we have invited colleagues from Skills for Care for part of the session to show you their workforce platform, which has many benefits for providers.

Did you know that you can claim funds to help with staff training by submitting data about your workforce to Skills for Care?

Over 20,000 social care providers already do so, and some organisations receive thousands of pounds each year for training in return for sharing their data.

On top of this, you can access free and safe tools which enable management of your staff and training records and allow you to benchmark your workplace against similar providers, such as how your pay rates, staff turnover or sickness absence rates compare with others. Users also gain special offers and discounts from Skills for Care and endorsed training providers.

Data from the Skills for Care platform - the Adult Social Care Workforce Data Set (ASC-WDS) – is relied upon by central government, local government and regulators to guide policy making on workforce.

Insight from ASC-WDS helps to guide planning, monitoring and funding of adult social care.

This means you can make your voice heard and help policy makers understand the priorities for the care workforce.

It is vital that homecare providers contribute to ensure this data set is as accurate as possible and that our part of the sector is represented as much as care homes.

Colleagues from Skills for Care will demonstrate what this platform looks like if you log on as a provider and explain how you can sign up and obtain the benefits.
