White Paper on reform of the Mental Health Act

The Government have issued a White Paper on Reform of the Mental Health Act 1983. The reforms include a focus on:

Giving patients a voice - including the use of advance choice documents
Tackling disparities, including the use of the law in relation to BAME communities
How mental health treatment links to the Criminal Justice system
How people with learning disabilities and autism are treated under the law
