Housing with care - an additional £182m is being made available to support increased availability of housing with care options in Wales. Press release.
Outcomes framework - the Minister for Health and Social Services updated the Senedd on progress on developing a Health and Social Care Outcomes Framework. The intention is that this will shift performance focus away from measuring what is being done to measuring outcomes for people. The final Framework is expected in October. Read the statement here.
Spring boosters - the COVID-19 vaccination spring booster campaign will end on 30 June. The booster programme is open to those over 75; those in a care home for older adults and those over 12 who are immunosuppressed. Those who turn 75 on or before 30 June are eligible at any time in the spring programme. Further details.
Social Care Wales Strategy - Social Care Wales have published their five year strategy. We have previously commented on their draft priorities.
National short breaks scheme - a £9m fund has been set aside to establish a short breaks scheme for informal carers in Wales to have short break care (sometimes referred to as respite provision).
Unpaid carers who are receiving Carer's Allowance on 31 March in Wales will receive a £500 payment.
Older People's Commissioner - Helena Herklots will continue for a further two years as Older People's Commissioner for Wales. Press release.

WULF - the Wales Union Learning Fund is a Welsh Government funding stream for training delivered by trade unions. UNISON Cymru Wales are delivering the programme of training for schools, health and social care and some of the training materials from this programme will be accessible to employees of independent providers in social care, whether or not union members.
