The Welsh Government responded to the consultation on changes to social care legislation. You can read our response here. The Welsh Government plans to continue to eliminate profit in children's social care; they will also be looking to improve the interface between CHC and Direct Payments in the short-term. The First Minister has since then announced that the Welsh Government will be bringing forward a Bill which will cover both these topics and will legislate to make Direct Payments available for Continuing Health Care.

Care Inspectorate Wales have issued an "Equality, Diversity and Inclusion: A Statement of Strategic Intent" in it they state an intention to build their organisation so it is inclusive and representative and improve their engagement with diverse communities. They also intend to "strengthen the focus on equality and diversity in our work and where we find inequalities we will challenge and report on this."
The Welsh Government have announced the membership of a new advisory board on Welsh Language in health and social care.
In an update on the Budget Mark Drakeford warned that the Welsh Government was in the toughtest financial situation it had faced since devolution.
A National Immunisation Framework is being developed in the NHS, including digital infrastructure to support vaccination role out - though this isn't anticipated to be ready until 2025.
Healthy Working Wales will be developing a more flexible online offering to support employers to promote the health and wellbeing of their employees.

The Welsh Government have said that they have national programmes which are actively considering interventions to support winter planning for the coming season. This includes via the Further, Faster programme to develop community care capacity.
The Minister for Social Partenrship has given an update on the anticipated commencement dates for the Social Partnership and Public Procurement (Wales) Act 2023.
Social Care Wales have commissioned a study into the data maturity of local authorities with regards their social care data.
Online training resources are now available from Public Health Wales on Preventing Dehydration and Prevention of Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) & Catheter Associated Infection (CAUTI) in Older Adults. Bangor University are also running a MOOC on Infection Prevention and Control.
Cardiff University has launched a new Centre for Adult Social Care Research.
