Care workforce pathway for England consultation open
The Government are consulting on a care workforce pathway for adult social care. This is to clarify understanding of career progression and development within the sector; as well as what skills are needed to excel in different roles in the sector.
The proposal in the consultation includes four broad categories of role:
- Care and support practitioner (people in the first 12 to 18 months of their roles)
- Advanced care and support practitioner
- Senior care and support practitioner (including supervisors and managers)
- Practice leader or specialist practitioners
Questions focus on what the pathway should include and how the pathway will be used.
The consultation is open until 31 May 2023. (Easy-read version 15 June 2023.)
