Update to registration requirements in Wales
Following their consultation, Social Care Wales have announced that they are making the following changes to their registration requirements:
- From October, social care workers who don’t have the level 3 qualification can now register as a social care manager if they can show sufficient managerial experience.
- Social Care Wales recognise that many people can complete the qualification in three years, and we still expect that most social care workers will do so. But, all social care workers will have six years to complete the required qualification for their role (we understand this has been implemented).
We welcome these changes, but think further changes are needed to support those who are working in the sector on a part-time or casual basis. See our consultation response:
