Software firm Unique IQ is helping homecare organisations get remote inspection-ready with the launch of a new guide.
Home care technology company Unique IQ is aiming to help home care providers prepare for remote CQC inspections, with a new guide published in March 2022.
‘Remote inspections: a guide for home care providers’ has been produced to demystify remote inspections and ease some of the worry around this new form of assessment.
Featuring a handy checklist for care managers to make sure they are remote inspection-ready, the guide focuses on how to leverage technology within a virtual inspection format. It showcases some of the useful reports and features of care management software which make it easy to extract the digital evidence required.

The quick reference guide also provides some background on the CQC’s move towards digital regulation, as well as what to expect when being inspected remotely.
The Care Quality Commission now employs remote as a standard inspection format for domiciliary care and extra care providers, following a successful pilot in autumn 2020.
CEO & Founder of Unique IQ, David Lynes, said: “having the option of a remote inspection is a welcome step forward for home care providers, which we anticipate will reduce some of the administrative burden that typically comes with inspections. However, we recognise the need for care providers to be remote-inspection ready.
“Adopting good process habits early and being familiar with your care management software can go some way to reducing the worry and workload around preparing for a CQC inspection. With this guide, we want to help home care providers be prepared, so that Outstanding care can speak for itself.”
‘Remote inspections’ is the first in a new series of industry guides from Unique IQ named ‘Unique insights’. The series is designed to help the home care sector harness the power of technology to tackle some of the pressing issues facing care today.
