This is Homecare Association's response to the short consultation on proposed changes to SSSC Register, conducted by the Scottish Social Services Council at the end of 2023.
In our response, we agreed that reducing the number of SSSC Register parts would be an improvement to the current structure, and that three months after starting in their role is an appropriate timescale to require workers to apply for registration.
We also agreed with SSSC’s proposals to include more information on the searchable public Register.
