From Skills for Care:

Skills for Care launches campaign focused on creating happy and healthy workplaces across social care

Throughout May and June Skills for Care is focusing on providing support to create happy and health workplaces.

The organisation will be sharing information and ideas to help social care employers, managers, and their teams with creating and being part of a happy and healthy workplace.

As part of the campaign, Skills for Care highlights that being happy and healthy at work is about more than occasional wellbeing activities and workshops; it’s something that needs to be baked into the values and processes that underpin everything about how our organisations work.

From their data analysis and through working closely with social care providers, the organisation knows that a happy and healthy team is a productive and loyal team, making staff wellbeing a core part of any effective retention strategy and a priority in providing the best level of care.

Skills for Care’s research has found that respecting and valuing staff, investing in learning and development, promoting inclusivity, providing compassionate leadership, embedding organisational values, and celebrating achievements all go a long way to improving employee happiness.

As part of their work through May and June, Skills for Care will be providing further information and inspiration on each of these factors, sharing examples from providers and people working across the social care sector.

Skills for Care is also asking as many people as possible to get involved by sharing what they do to support the wellbeing of themselves and their team. You can share your insights using #HappyHealthyWorkplace and tagging Skills for Care on Twitter, LinkedIn, or Facebook.
