A research study for homecare workers who have experienced double handed homecare is taking place with Newcastle & Northumbria Universities. Here is their message:
What is the research about?
Researchers at Newcastle University and Northumbria University are exploring care at home where two workers are required to be present (double handed homecare), as opposed to a single worker (single handed homecare). They would like to talk to homecare workers who have been involved in a care package where there was a change in the number of homecare workers or where such a change was considered.
The purpose of this research is to use these experiences, alongside other information, to provide recommendations on how reviews of double handed homecare packages should be performed in the future. We are interested in negative experiences as well as positive ones.
Who can take part?
Homecare workers who have been involved in a care package where there was a change in the number of homecare workers or where such a change was considered.
What would it involve?
A researcher would get in touch with you, give you more information, and give you the opportunity to ask questions. If you then gave consent, the researcher would carry out an interview with you over the telephone or by video link (whatever you prefer) to chat about your experience. This would take up to around 45 minutes.
You would be offered a £25 gift voucher as a thank-you.
