Reasonable Adjustment Digital Flag implementation delayed until October 2027
In March, we highlighted NHS England's requirement for providers of publicly funded health and social care services to implement the Reasonable Adjustment Digital Flag. An update has now confirmed that implementation for adult social care has been delayed until October 2027.
The extension follows concerns raised by the sector, including through the Homecare Association, about the practical and technical challenges of implementation. The additional time will allow NHS England, system suppliers and providers to develop the necessary systems, guidance and processes to support compliance.
We will continue working with NHS England to ensure the requirements are proportionate for home care providers and will provide further guidance and practical support to members as implementation plans develop.
