Local authorities in England given greater enforcement powers

Local authorities in England have been given additional powers from 2 December to maintain COVID-secure environments in their area, so they can issue improvement and restriction noticea to businesses that do not comply with COVID-secure rules.

See the list of the relevant obligations businesses need to meet. The new powers are based in part on the existing health and safety regime.
