How to work safely guidance remains fit for purpose
A comprehensive review of evidence by the UK Infection Prevention Control Cell has concluded that the current 'How to Work Safely' guidance remains fit for purpose, in light of new, more infectious COVID-19 variants.
This means, in line with NHS advice to staff, there has been no change to guidance on the use of infection prevention control measures, even after staff and service users have been vaccinated.
So existing guidance on personal protective equipment (PPE) and infection control procedures in England are to be followed to minimise the risk of transmission.
This is supported by The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency. New evidence is being kept under review.
