Last month, the Homecare Association team attended the Care Show Birmingham 2025. The programme featured two busy days of sector updates and learning, giving attendees the chance to hear providers, careworkers and industry experts talking about the latest innovations and sharing best practice.

With a busy exhibition, attendees also connected and networked with colleagues from across the sector, as well as meeting a wide range of suppliers supporting the care industry.

Homecare Association talks and panel discussions

As usual, our Chief Executive, Dr Jane Townson OBE, and our Head of Policy, Practice and Innovation, Daisy Cooney, took to the stage for several thought-provoking talks on important homecare topics.

On day 1:

  • Jane welcomed attendees to the Care Keynote Theatre to share insights into what’s needed to drive meaningful reform in homecare and her advice to the Casey Commission.

  • Jane also joined a panel on AI in homecare - a hot topic at the moment! Panellists also included our members from Walfinch, Trinity Homecare, and CareBrain.

Day 2:

  • Daisy gave attendees an important update on the Employment Rights Bill, outlining its implications for homecare, the work of the Association to represent members and tips on how to thrive despite new changes ahead.

  • Jane joined the ‘Prevention is the new cure’ podcast with host, former Parliamentary Under-Secretary for DHSC and former Chair of the Health and Social Care Committee, Steve Brine. Jane shared her thoughts on the Government’s prevention agenda and whether it can succeed where others have failed.

Welcoming visitors to our Homecare Lounge

We also had a great time welcoming visitors to our Homecare Lounge on the exhibition floor, especially so many of our amazing members – thank you to everyone who stopped by!

And we met many homecare providers interested in hearing about our work, and how Homecare Association membership supports providers across the UK.
