Fair Pay Agreement £500m funding announcement

The Government have announced £500m of funding to support the Fair Pay Agreement.

• The Government has included legislation to underpin the Adult Social Care Negotiating Body for England in the Employment Rights Bill, which is in its final stages in parliament.
• The Government has also launched a consultation to inform the secondary legislation for the Adult Social Care Negotiating Body for England.
• The Negotiating Body is due to be established in 2026/27, with negotiations in 2027/28.
• The £500m will be available from the 2028/29 financial year.
• The funding is part of the £4bn already announced in the recent Spending Review.
• Similar Negotiating Bodies could be established in Wales and Scotland.
