Equality and Human Rights Commission publish guidance for commissioners in Wales
The Equality and Human Rights Commission has published new guidance for social care commissioners in Wales. The guidance looks at how commissioners can meet Standard 10 of the National Commissioning Framework to meet the Public Sector Equality Duty.
This aligns with the Commission's pre-existing principles for equality and human rights in social care. The guidance recommends, amongst other things, that public sector bodies commission care from providers who have fair work practices and who offer training on cultural competency and disability awareness.
